The models wore neckpieces, red caps and smart jackets. The first round was ‘Charmed Forces’, where the clothes were inspired by the armed forces. It had nine rounds and each round was different from the other. The fashion show was no less than a spectacular event. After this, the students lighted 25 candles to celebrate the occasion. The show started with a welcome dance by the students which was followed by a ceremony where the chief guests Manoviraj Khosla, fashion designer, and D A Venkatesh, Commissioner for Textile Development and Director of Handlooms and Textiles, Government of Karnataka, released balloons in the air to commemorate 25 years of excellence of NIFT. The theme of the fashion show was ‘go green’. The three-day celebration started with the inaugural fashion show, ‘Catch the Bling!’, which was put together by the third year students of the institute. “Everyone has been working very hard over the past week to put everything together,” said Ruma, a third year Fashion Communications student.
